GUEST BOOK

Charlie was a kind, generous, and hardworking volunteer at Wormsloe, where he spent countless hours keeping the grass cut and the trails clear. Whenever there was a need, he would be the first one there. He never wanted to be in the spotlight or take credit for anything he had done, but he deserves recognition for his stewardship of one of Georgia's great treasures.

To the family of Charles, I am so sorry to hear of his passing. I graduated from Jenkins with him. We were not particularly close in school, but I did have a very good experience with him several years after graduating. We served on the same jury. One of the first things the foreman did was offer a prayer. Charles was a main driving force in the direction of the deliberations, which helped resolve a bad situation for some young children involved.

I will always remember Charlie as a kind and friendly neighbor. He was generous with a smile and a wave as I passed his house. We recently talked for quite a while at the fence while he was having some tree work done. I will certainly miss him. I pray for comfort and peace for all of his family and loved ones. Fair winds and following seas, Charlie

My first remembrance of Charlie was about 1957 when we both attended the Isle of Hope elementary school in the old, old buildings. He was a big guy even then. We graduated from Jenkins the same year. As important to the football team as he was he was humble about that role and kept to himself. He had my respect as a team player and as a person. my sympathies to the family.
